What international visitors need before flying to Colombo — and how to request an invitation letter.

Before You Fly

Visa & Entry — Sri Lanka ETA

Most nationalities require an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) or visa before travelling to Sri Lanka. Apply early — approval is usually fast, but the show weeks are busy.

Important: visa rules change. Always confirm current requirements on the official Sri Lanka immigration / ETA website or with the nearest Sri Lankan mission before booking travel. The guidance below is general and not immigration advice.

1 · Check Your Requirement

Verify on the official ETA portal whether your nationality needs an ETA, a visa in advance, or qualifies for exemption.

2 · Apply Online

Apply through the official ETA system with your passport details and travel dates. Business-purpose ETAs suit trade-show visits.

3 · Check Your Passport

At least 6 months' validity beyond your stay and blank pages for stamps.

4 · Carry Your Documents

ETA/visa approval, return ticket, hotel booking and your COMPLAST registration or invitation letter — printed and on your phone.

5 · Arrive at CMB

Immigration at Bandaranaike International Airport is straightforward with documents in order.

Need Support?

Business Invitation Letters

Registered trade visitors and confirmed exhibitors who need a supporting document for their application can request a standard event invitation letter.

How to Request

  • Email plastics@smartexpos.in with subject "Invitation Letter — COMPLAST Sri Lanka 2026"
  • Include company name, your full name as per passport, passport number and nationality
  • Attach your visitor registration confirmation or stand booking reference
  • Allow 2–3 working days for issue

Please Note

  • The letter confirms your business purpose at the exhibition
  • It is not a visa guarantee — approval rests with Sri Lankan immigration
  • Apply for your ETA as early as possible
  • The organiser cannot intervene in individual immigration decisions
